What is 32-bit or 64-bit Computer

You may ever heard peoples are talking about their machines has 32-bit or 64-bit CPU. But what is 32-bit or 64-bit system. The type of processor not only affect computer performance but it can also decide what type of software it uses. Read this article you'll get idea about 32-bit & 64-bit.

Differences between a 32-bit and 64-
bit CPU --

The maximum amount of RAM supported by 32-bit computer is 4gb. In 32-bit system You are restricted to a maximum of 4 gigabytes of RAM. While 64 bit version can deal with physical memory (RAM) above 4 GB and up to 128GB. Providing above 4gb RAM to computer while using 32-bit system doesn't make sense. The ability to handle large memory makes the 64-bit system more efficient. 64-bit system can handle multiple processes more efficiently. Software which are designed for 64-bit machine not work on 32-bit. If you want to take advantage of large memory above 4gb then go fr 64-bit version. Users who have old softwares and hardwares then 32-bit system is boss.
This is simple explanation for more detail go to Wikipedia ( 32-bit , 64-bit )

Note: Most programs designed for 32 bit version can support 64-bit version too. But if a program is designed for 64 bit version then it won’t work on 32 bit version.
